205 Live Review: The Start Of A New Era

205 Live officially debuted last night on WWE Network it showcased the best action from the Cruiserweight division. This show was only 45 minutes long which at first seemed short but it was the perfect length.

The main event was eagerly anticipated between Rich Swann and The Brian Kendrick for the Cruiserweight Championship. Heading into this matchup Swann had picked up multiple wins over Kendrick.

Swann earned this title opportunity when he defeated the former Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins and Noam Dar on Raw. This main event was simply incredible due to all the high-flying action and near falls between Swann and Kendrick. Kendrick being a smart champion, targeted his opponent’s neck and back.

Swann showed off his resiliency after he connected with a series kicks becoming the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Swann deserves all the success he is currently receiving, due to all the obstacles that he has faced in his young life, losing both parents at a young age. He’s wrestled all over the world including Smash Wrestling, which I had the prestige of watching him for years.

A trio of commentary:

The WWE has assembled a very interesting and intriguing trio of commentaries in Corey Graves, Mauro Ranallo and “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” Austin Aries. This Trio was very entertaining and seemed to work well with each other.

The Extraordinary Gentleman

After Jack Gallagher made his impact in the Cruiserweight Classic, he looked to do the same against Ariya Daivari in the debut of 205 Live.“The Extraordinary Gentleman” once again showed off his unparallel  technical ability. Whenever Gallager puts his opponent in a knot it constantly blows me away in amazement. Daivari tried to take Gallagher to the limit but it was not enough as Gallagher picked up the win via a running Dropkick in the corner.
