SmackDown last night was a very compelling episode and things are heating up five days before the Royal Rumble. I will provide you with a brief recap of the show as well as the results.
Return of Basic Thuganomics
AJ Styles called John Cena out on the mic and these two went back and forth on the mic. Last night while watching this segment Cena come at AJ Styles fast and furious with comebacks to Styles. It reminded me of when John Cena started to make a name for himself as Basic Thuganomics.
Main event
After The Miz and Daniel Bryan had and argument to begin the show backstage. The Miz demand another title shot at the Intercontinental Championship and Bryan gave him a match but it was a Lumberjack match. These two have had bad blood so you know that tensions would be high. At one point, it was complete chaos as the Lumberjacks filled the ring as they started to fight with each other. The Lunatic Fringe who was able to counter the Skull Crush Finale, into Dirty Deeds on The Miz to retain his title.
Confessions
Following her shocking return, Mickie James granted an in-ring interview with Renee Young. In order to explain her and she stated that she has been watching WWE for years. She was the one that started the Women’s Revolution and she will prove herself that she belongs.Mickie went and stated that the only current Superstar who had the proper appreciation for her legacy is SmackDown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. This caused Becky Lynch to run down to the ring she took down James and connected with multiple punches. However, Lynch was set up as James jumped into with the fans and Bliss blindsided Lynch. Then SmackDown Women’s Champion and James gave Lynch yet another beatdown.

Randy Orton defeated Luke Harper via an RKO.
Carmella took James Ellsworth on a shopping spree
Mojo Rawley won the 10 man over the top rope challenge
Dolph Ziggler defeated Kalisto via a Superkick
Naomi against Natalya never happened because Nikki Bella brutally assaulted her.
