Dwayne Wade Out for the Season

Dwyane Wade has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured right elbow. K.C. Johnson was the first to report.

An MRI on Thursday morning confirmed that Wade has a “sprain and a small fracture” in his right elbow. The Bulls have ruled him out for the regular season, but it’s currently unclear if he can make it back in time for the playoffs if the Bulls can sneak in. Chicago is now 32-36, a game behind the Miami Heat for the last playoff spot in the East. Wade was suffered this injury second half of Wednesday’s 98-91 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Moving Forward

Jimmy Butler becomes the man once again along with Rajon Rondo who will both have to pick it up without Wade. A name to keep your eye on however is rookie Denzel Valentine. Over his last five games, Valentine has averaged 9.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.6 triples.

Wade finishes the regular season averaging 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.5 steals. He has a player option for $23.8 million next season and it’s possible he has already played his last game as a Bull.
