Johnny Manziel Reaches Plea deal

Former Browns’ QB Jonny Manziel has finally reached a plea deal , which will dismiss his domestic violence case. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.  Both parties will go back to court Dec.1st to finalize the deal.

“That’s all in progress,” Darnell said regarding the conditions of any agreement. “Until we get something done, if we do, then we’ll announce it.”

“Everybody will be required to be here,” Canas said. “Then we will get this case down the road.”

Manziel was allegedly involved in a domestic violence situation with Colleen Crowley in January. Crowley had stated, “During an argument, Manziel had forced her into a car, when she tried to get out, he repeatedly hit her.” Manziel has had a history of altercations with Crowley. Last year, he was stopped by law enforcement because of an altercation with Crowley but was not charged

In May, Manziel posted bail after he was charged with a misdemeanor assault. His actions earned him a restraining order for two years and prohibited him from possessing firearms. He was instructed to pay Crowley’s $12,000 in legal fees over the next two years.

Manziel was the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, but he did not have the work ethic to overcome the obstacles of being a star. He’s had problems on and off the field and a lot of people telling him that he needs to seek professional help. Manziel’s father had some strong words to say about his son.

“He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie,” Paul Manziel said in a phone interview. “I don’t know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn’t sought it yet. Hopefully, he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say.”

“You have no idea. And the system failed,” he said. “I had him in rehab and he escaped and the doctors let him go, and that is a whole other story. So I mean I had him in rehab and the system failed. It didn’t work. “He has more money than me, so he can outrun me. Like I said, there are two things that are going to happen: He’s either going to die, or he’s going to figure out that he needs help. It’s one of the two. But we’ve done everything that we can do. Life goes on. You can’t just chase somebody that’s not willing to listen. The story is not going to change. It’s the same.”

Hopefully, Manziel can clean up his act and let his past be a motivational tool for him.
