MAC Championship Preview: Ohio Bobcats vs Western Mich Broncos

The MAC Championship will be at Ford Field in Detroit. It’s going to be a battle between the Ohio Bobcats and the Western Michigan Broncos. All eyes will be on WMU because if they get this win it could ensure them a trip to a New Years Six bowl game. However, don’t underestimate the Ohio Bobcats.

The Bobcats come in with a record of 8-4 (6-2 in the MAC) they earned their bid to go to the conference championship game with a 9-3 victory over the Akron Zips. This is the first time in five years the Bobcats have made it to the championship game. They’re led by their veteran head coach, Frank Solich. Coach Solich must create a gameplan that can stop the furious passing attack of WMU.

What a cinderella story for the kids from Kalamazoo, MI. At 12-0 (8-0) the Broncos come in as one of two undefeated teams in the country, the other being Alabama. Quarterback Zach Terrell will be the deciding factor for WMU to stay undefeated. Terrell has one of the best receivers in the country in Chris Davis. WMU is led by their Head Coach, P.J. Fleck with such excitement and leadership and it is rubbing off on his players. He has to be in the running for National Coach of the Year.

The Bobcats come in as a heavy underdog. However, If they can force some early turnovers against WMU, they have an opportunity to pull off a huge upset. The question is can they do it?

Prediction: WMU 48-21
