#6 ranked Buckeyes dominate the Terrapins

During the entire game, it was all Ohio State who would go on to beat the Maryland Terrapins, 62-3. This is Maryland’s second blowout loss in two weeks.

Ohio State would strike first when Curtis Samuel ran it in from two yards out to increase their lead to seven. Ohio State would score again with a 4-yard run by J.T. Barrett for a touchdown to increase the lead to 14-0. Maryland’s only points of the game came on their second drive when kicker Adam Greene kicked a 23-yard field goal to put Maryland on the board at 14-3. Ohio State would go on to dominate the rest of the game and finish the game 62-3.

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett had four total touchdowns in today’s game. He finished with 253 yards passing, two touchdown passes, and two rushing touchdowns.  Samuel had three total touchdowns on the day as well which included two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. The Ohio State offense was able to keep their defense off the field and allow their defense to rest.

The defense for Ohio State was able to hold Maryland to just three points in their win against another Big Ten opponent. Coach Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes are currently at #6 and we need a little help to get back into the hunt for the CFB playoff.

Maryland Terrapins had another blowout loss in the second week. Maryland has allowed 116 points in and only scoring six points in the past two weeks. Maryland didn’t have an answer for J.T. Barrett and the Ohio State offense. LB Shane Cockerille and LB Jermaine Carter weren’t able to contain the running backs of Ohio State and QB J.T. Barrett. Maryland QB Caleb Rowe came in for the injured QB Perry Hills and finished the game 7-13, 93 yards, and one interception thrown.

Maryland wasn’t able to recover after the first half.

The takeaway:

Ohio State:

-Dominated a Big Ten opponent and has outscored their opponents 124-6 in two games

-Defense brought pressure to stifle the Maryland offense

-J.T. Barrett had enough time to find his playmakers to score points

Maryland:

-Defense has been outscored 116-6 in two games

-Offense has been inconsistent for the past four games

-Maryland hasn’t protected their QBs after getting sacked 6+ times in today’s game
