It’s official – Carolina’s No. 1 pick Bryce Young will suit up in No. 9 as a Panther. Young donned the number for the Alabama Crimson Tide en route to winning the Heisman Trophy and finishing second in Alabama history in passing yards (8,356) and passing touchdowns (80).
Panthers second-year quarterback Matt Corral, who wore No. 9 his rookie season, will move to No. 2 – left vacant with the trade of wide receiver DJ Moore. Corral wore No. 2 in his college days at Ole Miss and high school and had previously requested to go back to his former number.
Young’s jerseys are now available to order online at the Panthers Team Store. The four other Carolina draft picks have all gotten their numbers as well: Johnathan Mingo will wear No. 15; DJ Johnson will wear No. 52; Chandler Zavala will wear No. 62;Â and Jammie Robinson will wear No. 22.
