The Carolina Panthers took the practice field on Wednesday in what has been an eventful week. In Chris Tabor’s first week as interim head coach after the termination of Frank Reich on Monday, there were eight players held out of practice.
Five of those eight players left Sunday’s game at Tennessee – tight end Tommy Tremble (hip), Vonn Bell (shoulder), Laviska Shenault, Jr. (ankle), Chandler Zavala (knee), and Marquis Haynes, Sr. (back). Tight end Hayden Hurst also did not practice as he remains in the concussion protocol. Tackle Taylor Moton and receiver Adam Thielen took their routine Wednesday rest day.
Cade Mays (ankle) and DJ Johnson (elbow) were both limited after leaving Sunday’s game with injuries also. The other three limited participants were players that have been designated to return from Injured Reserve but have not been activated to the 53-man roster – cornerback Jaycee Horn (hamstring), Jeremy Chinn (quadriceps), and Yetur Gross-Matos (hamstring).
Cornerback CJ Henderson was a full participant but remains in the concussion protocol.
