It’s Game Week and on Monday, the Carolina Panthers released the first depth chart of the 2024 season. There are no major surprises on either side of the ball at this point of training camp.
Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen, and Jonathan Mingo are listed as the starting wide receivers while rookie Xavier Legette, Terrace Marshall, Jr., and Ihmir Smith-Marsette are listed with the second team. Legette left Sunday’s practice with a foot injury and while X-rays and an MRI have ruled out a fracture, he will not play in Thursday’s preseason game at New England.
Chuba Hubbard is listed as the starting running back, with Miles Sanders and Raheem Blackshear listed as second and third team, respectively. Newcomers Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt join Ikem Ekwonu, Taylor Moton, and Austin Corbett as starters on the offensive line. Two tight ends are listed as starters in Ian Thomas and Tommy Tremble with rookie Ja’Tavion Sanders and Jordan Matthews listed with the second team.
On the other side of the ball, DJ Johnson is listed as the starting EDGE opposite Jadeeon Clowney, with K’Lavon Chaisson and Eku Leota as backups. Jaycee Horn and Dane Jackson are the projected starters at corner, followed by Lamar Jackson and Dicaprio Bootle. Troy Hill is listed as the starting nickel, backed by rookie Chau Smith-Wade. Vets Xavier Woods and Jordan Fuller round out the starting secondary as Nick Scott and Alex Cook are listed with the second team.
Shaq Thompson and Josey Jewell are the starting linebackers with newcomer A’Shawn Robinson joining Derrick Brown and Shy Tuttle upfront.
The rotation for Thursday night’s game is expected to be decided by Tuesday evening, per head coach Dave Canales. You can view the full depth chart on panthers.com.
