World Cup Warm-Up: DMV Training Camps Gear Up for FIFA Club Kickoff

World-class soccer is landing in the DMV — not just for match day. Four international teams will call Washington-area facilities home base during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™, FIFA announced Tuesday.

With the tournament just weeks away, all 32 clubs are gearing up at training bases across the country.

In the D.C. metro area, Wydad AC of Morocco is said to train at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland.

Al Ain FC of the United Arab Emirates will practice at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

Al Hilal, the 19-time league champions of Saudi Arabia, will use D.C. United’s training facilities in Leesburg, Virginia.

Italian powerhouse Juventus will prepare at the Greenbrier Sports Performance Center in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.

Audi Field in Washington will host three Club World Cup matches on June 18, 22 and 26, and welcome five different teams during the group stage.

FIFA has designated 34 official Team Base Camp Training Sites for the tournament, with top-tier facilities spread across 14 states.

Clubs from 20 different nations will be based in locations ranging from Florida to Washington state, ensuring the tournament’s reach extends well beyond host cities.

“We’re pleased to confirm the Team Base Camp Training Sites that will host qualified clubs throughout the group stage of the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström. “These sites and more significantly the people and communities that surround them will welcome the world’s best, providing first-class environments and hospitality in support of the teams.”

The training sites were strategically selected to give local communities a chance to connect with international clubs, FIFA officials said.

“The clubs, their players, coaches, management, staff and fans will build incredible connections with the local people that support them throughout the tournament,” Grafström said. “This is a consistently important part of any World Cup.”

With world-class soccer teams arriving at their training camps across the country, the tournament is getting closer by the day.

Tickets are available at FIFA.com/tickets, and every match will be streamed live and free globally on DAZN.com
