Lamar Jackson is questionable for Sunday’s home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and for the first time in weeks, the news around the Ravens quarterback is pointing the right way.
Jackson returned to practice on Friday for the first time since he injured his ankle on Oct. 4. He has missed the last two games, including last Sunday’s 13-10 loss to the Browns, and Baltimore has been searching for answers without him.
Jackson told reporters the recovery is “headed in the right direction,” but the team has not made a final decision. According to the Ravens, the call could come as late as game time.
The defense took two hits on the final injury report. Safety Jaylinn Hawkins (knee) has been ruled out, though head coach Jesse Minter does not believe the injury is long-term. The bigger blow is outside linebacker Tavius Robinson, who suffered a pectoral injury. Minter said Robinson will miss the rest of the season.
Cornerback T.J. Tampa is listed as doubtful, and defensive tackle Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle) is questionable.
A Jackson return would change the feel of an AFC North matchup the Ravens badly need. Without him, Baltimore has leaned on Tyler Huntley, and the offense has struggled to finish drives. With the Bengals coming to town, the difference between a healthy Lamar and a limited one could decide the afternoon.
