Beats, Goals, and Giving Back: FIFA’s First Halftime Show Set to Make History

FIFA and Global Citizen announced Monday that global superstar J Balvin, Grammy-winning, multi-platinum star Doja Cat, and multiple BET Award-winning singer-songwriter Tems will headline the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ Final halftime show on Sunday, July 13, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The halftime show will be curated by Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, the British band with over 100 million records sold worldwide, who also serves as the long-term international curator of the Global Citizen Festival.

The show will be in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million to improve access to education and football for children worldwide.

Global Citizen is a leading advocacy group fighting to end extreme poverty. Since 2008, it has helped deploy $49 billion in commitments impacting 1.3 billion lives globally.

One dollar from every Club World Cup ticket sold in the U.S. this summer will be donated to the fund. The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is set to achieve the largest worldwide reach ever for a global club tournament.

“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment — to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” Tems said.

The lineup of the global stars will highlight the connection between football, music, culture, and charitable causes.

“From Medellín to MetLife — I’m honored to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final,” Balvin said. “It’s a historic moment — for me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.”

The halftime show is being produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation, Done+Dusted, and DPS, directed by Hamish Hamilton and executive produced by Guy Carrington, Dave Meyers, and Hamilton.

“To end extreme poverty we need to ensure every child gets access to a quality education,” said Hugh Evans, co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen. “That’s why, together with our partners at FIFA, we’re calling on football fans everywhere to take action. The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund brings together the global energy of football and music to raise USD 100 million and give children around the world a real chance at a better future. As the FIFA Club World Cup kicks off, we’re asking fans to step up, get involved, and be part of the movement driving real change.”

The 32-team tournament, the largest Club World Cup, will run from June 14 to July 13 across 12 U.S. venues in 11 cities. Tickets and hospitality packages are on sale now at FIFA.com/tickets.
