While the Carolina Panthers get starting quarterback Bryce Young back after the rookie missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, they could possibly be without three more starters. Young was a full participant in all practices this week. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown went on to say that Wednesday’s session was the best he’s seen from the No. 1 overall pick.
On the defensive side of the ball, safety Xavier Woods is expected to be out for an extended period of time after sustaining a hamstring injury in last week’s loss at Seattle. Linebacker Frankie Luvu is listed as questionable after being limited this week by a hip pointer.
Starting running back Miles Sanders missed Friday’s practice with a groin injury. Rookie starting wide receiver Jonathan Mingo continues to move through the concussion protocol but was out of the red no-contact jersey for Friday’s practice. Both are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game as the Panthers host the Minnesota Vikings with both teams looking for their first win of the season.
