From the Stands to History: Wydad Supporter Marks One Million Fans at Club World Cup

FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ attendance surpassed one million fans on Sunday, with a young Virginia fan marking the milestone during the match between Juventus FC vs. Wydad AC at Lincoln Financial Field.

Rachida Elomari, a Wydad AC supporter, became the tournament’s one millionth spectator, according to FIFA. The match was her first time attending a professional soccer game in person.

“I was really excited because I wanted to see my team play, and that was going to be my first time ever going to a stadium,” Elomari said. “I wanted to support my team with all my might!”

The 32-team Club World Cup is being held across 12 U.S. cities this summer, allowing international clubs and their fans to connect across continents.

“I’ve got to see FIFA World Cups on TV and other channels, but seeing the FIFA Club World Cup here in real life is just a great opportunity with the greatest teams in the world, in my personal opinion,” Elomari said.

As of Wydad AC’s match, a total of 1,094,686 fans have attended the tournament, with an average of 36,490 spectators per game, according to FIFA. The largest crowd so far was 80,619 for Paris Saint-Germain vs. Atlético de Madrid at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles.

With FIFA hosting this year’s Club World Cup across the United States, they have created an unprecedented opportunity for fans to experience world-class soccer up close, making the global game more accessible than ever before.

“The FIFA Club World Cup gives another opportunity to families living across the U.S. that support Wydad to get to see their team play without paying thousands of dollars to go to another country to see them,” Elomari said.

With the group stage now complete, the tournament progresses into the knockout rounds, starting with the Round of 16 on June 28. Tickets can still be purchased at FIFA.com/tickets. However, DAZN, the exclusive global broadcaster of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, will continue to make every match of the tournament available for free to fans worldwide
