New Balance Football has officially unveiled Athletic Club’s Home and Away kits for the 2019/20 season.
The home shirt is a clean and classic take on Los Leones’ iconic racing red and white vertical stripes. The shirt sleeves are red and black with a white trim.
The away kit is a celebration of the Basque flag, in recognition of the Club’s special commitment to recruiting and fielding players exclusively from the Basque region. The jersey is eden green with racing red, gold and has the Basque flag framed on the nape of the back of the neck. A bespoke graphic, inspired by the Basque flag is proudly displayed on the front of the jersey. Goalkeeper jerseys for 2019/20 are phantom black (home) and grey (away).
The 2019/20 strips are part of New Balance Football’s ‘Upon this Ground’ campaign for Athletic Club, which celebrates the Club’s unique heritage and Basque roots.
Club forward Iñaki Williams said: “I believe the new kits respect our traditions very well. All the players are proud to wear the Red and White stripes of Athletic Club of course and this year’s away shirt shows our special connection to the Basque region. I am looking forward to wearing these jerseys very much!”
General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum, added: “Athletic Club is a special Club with its own unique, independent philosophy and we wanted the kits to be a celebration of that. I’m looking forward to seeing the players step out in both kits next term.”
