On Saturday, the Carolina Panthers will hold a special joint practice with the Pop Warner 11U Police Activities League (PAL) Panthers.
PAL players will warm-up alongside the team and participate in an intrasquad scrimmage while being encouraged by Panthers players and fans. Both teams will come together at the end of practice for final remarks from Coach Canales and PAL head coach Tae Brown. This one-of-a-kind practice experience is part of the Panthers and NFL’s Play Football Month initiative, which celebrates the game of football played at the grassroots level.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales said it’s important for the team support youth and high school football in the region. “It means a great deal to share this experience with the PAL Panthers and it reinforces that the fundamentals and preparation for football teams, no matter what the level of play, is universal.”
PAL Panthers will walk out to practice from Bank of America Stadium at 1:30pm and take part in a joint warm up before practicing in the stadium at 2:15pm. Following practice, they will return to the practice fields for a short scrimmage in front of players and fans.
