Seven Players Held Out of Thursdays Practice for Panthers

The Carolina Panthers listed 13 players on Thursday’s injury report as the team prepares to hit the road for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

For the second straight day, running back Miles Sanders was held out of practice with a shoulder injury. Safety Xavier Woods (hamstring) and left guard Chandler Zavala (neck) remain out as well. Left tackle Taylor Moton (knee/rest), linebacker Brian Burns (ankle), and defensive tackle Derrick Brown (knee/ankle) were all held out of practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Tight end Giovanni Ricci was a new addition to the injury report as he missed Thursday’s practice with a shoulder injury.

Guards Calvin Throckmorton (calf) and Austin Corbett (knee) were limited again on Thursday as Corbett continues to work back from an ACL tear last season. He remains in the 21-day window to return from the PUP list to the active roster. Outside linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill (back) and safety Vonn Bell (quadriceps) were limited as well.

Tight end Stephen Sullivan (hip) was a full participant after being limited in Wednesday’s practice and starting cornerback Donte Jackson was a full participant for the second straight day after missing last week’s game affairs the Detroit Lions due to a shoulder injury sustained in the Week Four loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
