Top Free Agent Targets For The Philadelphia Eagles

Free Agent Possibilities For The Philadelphia Eagles

Coming off a 7-9 season, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to improve in many positions this offseason. It was no secret that the Eagles need weapons around their franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz. Also, they’ll need help at the cornerback position after releasing Leodis McKelvin. Here several free agents that the birds can target:

A.J. Bouye, CB, Texans

The best overall free agent cornerback is set to hit the market, A.J. Bouye.

Bouye is coming off his rookie contract with the Houston Texans. He had 16 pass breakups, 63 tackles, one sack and one interception. His play led the Texans to an AFC South division title and a top-five defense. The Eagles will be highly interested in this young talented cornerback if he happens to hit the open market.

DeSean Jackson, WR, Redskins

Rumors have been circulating all year about a possible Jackson-Eagles reunion.

Jackson was released by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014, where he later signed with the Redskins. Jackson is set to become a free agent after registering 56 receptions, 1,005 yards, and four touchdowns. He missed a few games in the 2016 season due to injuries and that is something the Eagles will take into consideration. There’s no doubt that Jackson can still take the top off a defense.

Logan Ryan, CB, Patriots

Coming off the number one defense in 2016 with the New England Patriots, cornerback Logan Ryan is set to be a free agent.

Ryan started 13 games for the Patriots but was a warrior and a highly productive player when he was on the field. Ryan registered 74 tackles, 0ne sack and two interceptions in 2016. At 25 years old, Ryan could be a solid contributor to the Eagles defense.

Pierre Garcon, WR, Redskins

A lot of rumors have been circulation that the Eagles among others are highly interested in Wide Receiver Pierre Garcon.

The Eagles wide receiver group is very young and Garcon would bring a veteran role to that group. Garcon is coming off a highly productive year with the Redskins. 79 receptions for 1041 yards and three touchdowns were the stats for Garcon in 2016. With a lot of teams looking to add a veteran presence in the locker room, look for the Eagles to be one of them.

Robert Woods, WR, Bills

Woods is the type of wide receiver who has not only speed but hands. This is a guy who knows how to catch the football but won’t dominate a particular game by himself. Woods recorded 51 catches for 613 yards and one touchdown. This would be an affordable, solid signing for the Eagles who desperately need help at the wide receiver position. At 6-1 190 pounds, Woods is too talented for the Eagles not to take a shot on. At age 26, Woods has his whole career in front of him.

Kenny Stills, WR, Dolphins

Kenny Stills would be a great option at wide receiver for the Eagles.

Stills is coming off one of his best seasons production-wise. 42 receptions for 726 yards and nine touchdowns were recorded by Stills in 2016. The biggest thing about Still is that he catches the ball but most importantly he has a nag for finding the end zone. Stills asking price for what he believes he deserves might keep the Eagles from taking a look at him.
