The Washington Wizards opened up the 2017 portion of their schedule with a loss to the Houston Rockets last night 101-91. The Wizards drop to 16-17 on the year and ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
After sitting out against Brooklyn due to a sprained ankle, Bradley Beal played and led the team with 27 points on 6-of-12 shooting from deep. John Wall finished with 18 points and 12 assists while Marcin Gortat recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Although James Harden finished with a triple-double of 23 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds, the Wizards did a decent job containing him for the majority of the game. It was the Sixth Man of the Year leading candidate Eric Gordon (31 points) who was the catalyst.
I talk about the game and how it was truly a tale of two halves on this episode of the Wizards Wind Up.
