As Women’s History Month unfolds, ZIYNX, a unique student-athlete networking company, has boldly launched their We’ve Always Been Here campaign. This innovative, year-long movement is set to fund NIL deals, brand development, storytelling initiatives, and career-building resources for female athletes across all sports and divisions, marking a significant shift in the landscape of women’s sports.
The movement has gained momentum at an unprecedented rate, with over 100 female athletes in college and the pros rallying behind ZIYNX to drive this urgent initiative for Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) redistribution. The recent surge in NIL has yet to reach many women’s athletes, particularly those in HBCUs, NAIA, D3, and non-revenue sports, making this a pressing issue that ZIYNX is committed to addressing.
NIL is projected to be worth $1.67 billion for 2024–25 academic year according to Sports Illustrated, but sports such as women’s basketball, volleyball, softball and track only make up 7% of the total compensation combined.
“For too long, female athletes have been measured by TV ratings and social media numbers, but their impact is far greater than that,” said Joe Carney, founder and CEO of ZIYNX. “This isn’t just about visibility it’s about real investment. Not just for the top 1%, but for every female athlete, ensuring they leave college or the professional level feeling empowered, inspired, and prepared for what’s next.”
How the process will work is with the release of their We’ve Always Been Here t-shirts, as female athletes will make $5 off every t-shirt sold through the ZIYNX affiliate program. ZIYNX has sold 320 shirts since the March 8 release.
Rising stars like University of Texas guard Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda, University of Michigan gymnast Paige Thaxton, and professional soccer player Marissa DiGenova have joined in on the movement and ZIYNX is looking forward to expanding this illustrious lineup of female athletes.
