It’s easy to lose count of how many records Christian McCaffrey has surpassed in only his third season – both on the franchise and league level. The Carolina Panthers running back went into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints needing only 67 yards to become only the third running back in NFL history to amass 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards. The other two players to accomplish the feat are Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig.
With 2:00 remaining in the third quarter, quarterback Kyle Allen connected with McCaffrey on a 17-yard reception which gave McCaffrey exactly 1,000 receiving yards on the season. McCaffrey’s friends and family were in attendance as many anticipated the Pro Bowl-bound back would accomplish the feat.
