The Washington Commanders host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, and both teams need a win.
Washington is 1-4-1 and went 0-2-1 in October. The Commanders haven’t won since beating Seattle 33-31 on Sept. 27, and they are coming off a bye after losing 23-17 at San Francisco, the game where Terry McLaurin suffered his season-ending patellar tendon tear.
Philadelphia isn’t in much better shape at 2-5 after a 38-21 loss at Dallas on Monday night.
“I’m looking for winning football for all four quarters,” Dan Quinn said this week.
The quarterback room looks healthy. Jayden Daniels, who has been dealing with a left elbow injury since a dislocation in Week 2, was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday. Marcus Mariota (knee) was also full both days. Stefon Diggs returned to full participation Thursday after missing Wednesday.
Washington’s injury concerns are up front. Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee) and tight end John Bates (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, and center Nick Allegretti (back) sat out Thursday. Defensive end Charles Omenihu and defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton were limited both days, and wide receiver Treylon Burks did not practice Thursday.
The Eagles’ list is longer. Saquon Barkley (hamstring/back), DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), Jihaad Campbell, Jonathan Jones and Britain Covey all missed Thursday’s practice.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
