Coming into this season I had the Knicks finishing in fifth or six in a competitive Eastern Conference. Currently, the Knicks are 10th at 18-22. In their last 10 games, they’re a terrible 2-8. Even though the Knicks might be on the bubble of the playoffs. There are only a couple of games that separate the fourth team from the ten spot in the Eastern Conference. However, all the Knicks need to do is go on a six or eight games winning streak.

Loyalty
It is no secret that Carmelo Anthony has always had a soft spot for New York. As a freshman, he brought a NCAA Championship to Syracuse in 2003. Anthony needed a fresh start after he had a promising run with the Denver Nuggets until 2011. Anthony got his wish granted when he got traded with Chauncey Billups to the New York Knicks. Now during his Knicks career, Anthony has only made the playoffs three times. Anthony showed his loyalty for New York back in 2014 when he became a free agent. Anthony decided to re-sign with the Knicks for another five years for $124 million with an option to leave in his fourth year. At the time I thought from a basketball decision standpoint he should have taken less money to go to the Chicago Bulls.

Getting Value
In the past, fans could make the discussion that he was a top-five player. The league has so many superstars, therefore, you can make the case that Anthony is now in the top 10 or even out of it. There are so many superstars carrying the league such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Kevin Durant to name a few. Anthony can still score with the best of them on any given night and lead his team to victory.
The Knicks should try to Anthony and get some value back while there still is value to a contender. This year is Anthony worst statically year with the Knicks. Anthony is averaging 22.1 PPG while shooting .425 from the field and .350 from behind the arc. This will be Kristaps Porzingis team moving forward, therefore, the Knicks should try to build around him.

Be Real
This Knicks team is struggling to make the playoffs let alone become a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. Even though the Knicks fan have become sick of the hearing the word rebuild. However, Porzingis should be the main focus make him the star because the sky is the limit for the young phenom.
