The offenses of both teams stayed quiet until the 4th inning. The Marlins struck first with a double from Giancarlo Stanton, bringing J.T Realmuto home in the process. A Marcell Ozuna single brought Stanton home later in the inning.
The Nationals recovered with an HR from Bryce Harper in the 6th inning and another one from new signee Adam Lind in the 7th inning. Lind’s HR also brought home Matt Wieters in the process.

Leading 3-2, the Nationals added one more run from Bryce Harper, as a result of a Daniel Murphy single. Blake Treinen recorded the save in the 9th inning to win the game.
Stephen Strasburg was calm and collected from the mound. He pitched seven innings while only allowed six hits, less than the whole Miami pitching staff combined. Strasburg only throws 85 pitches on the day, keeping the Nationals in the game.

While eventually gaining the lead, the Nats recorded 9 hits and turned into four runs. It was a great win for the club who started the season at home.
The Nationals will continue the series on Wednesday with a 6:05 pm start time. World Baseball Classic her, Tanner Roark is the projected starter for the Nats.
