The latest edition of SmackDown was another disappointing episode with some entertaining elements. Here are my thoughts as well as the results.
Revenge
Last week on SmackDown Shane McMahon was embarrassed as he got assaulted in the parking lot. AJ Styles smashed his head through a car window. This week McMahon was seeking for revenge he called out AJ Styles.Styles made his way out and said he wanted to apologize to Shane. However, McMahon wasn’t having it and a brawl broke and he connected with a top rope elbow through the announcer’s table.
New Tag Team Champions
After weeks of getting in the heads of American Alpha, The Usos finally got a title shot at the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship. Both these teams had numerous encounters in the past and this was a fantastic match as they both laid it on the line as expected.
After numerous back and forth action from both teams, Jey connected with a Superkick on Jason Jordan to crown them the new SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions. It is good to see the Usos as three-time Tag Team Champions. American Alpha was given the Tag Team Champions too quickly with absolutely no momentum and feuds moving forward.
Mindgames
Following his match against Baron Corbin, Randy Orton was being interviewed by Renee Young backstage when suddenly the lights went out. When the lights went on there were several individuals in sheep masks, as assaulted Orton.
Eventually, the WWE Champion Bray Wyatt appeared. Wyatt stated to Orton that burning down The Wyatt Family Compound had changed him and made him stronger than ever. The WWE has done an excellent job building up the feud with creative ways to entertain the fans.
SmackDown results
