They had conviction and after securing the No. 1 pick, the Carolina Panthers brass had the luxury of time to explore all options. At the end, all signs pointed to No. 9 – as in Alabama’s  Bryce Young. His physical metrics could not outweigh the football acumen, winning pedigree, and overall sheer “dawg” of the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.
