Last night on NXT history was made. As a wrestler made his long-awaited return back home in addition to crowning a new one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Triple Threat match
Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan vs. Peyton Royce
Three of NXT’s top female wrestlers Ember Moon, Liv Morgan and Peyton Royce battled it for the right to challenge Asuka for her title. Billie Kay assisted Royce as she moved her out of the way of a diving Moon, and then Royce smashed Moon into the steel ring steps. Royce neutralized Moon, as focused on doing damage to Morgan. Kay decided to get involved and then Moon connected with an Eclipse on Kay for her troubles. Morgan lost her concentration and Royce capitalized with a Fisherman’s Suplex to get the win and title shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.
Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews
These two familiar foes crossed paths in the semi-finals of the WWE United Kingdom tournament Dunne got the best of Andrews at that time. This time the rematch took place in their first match on NXT. “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne tried to isolate Andrews and keep him on the ground. In the process, Dunne work on Andrews’ hand as he bent it and his fingers in an awkward way.
This match went back and forth with nonstop action. Andrews recovered and stunned “The Bruiserweight” with a reverse Hurricanrana and Stundog Millionaire only for a near fall. Dunne had his knees up and ready when Andrews attempted a Shooting Star Press. Then Dunne connected with the Bitter End “The Bruiserweight” got the win in his NXT debut.
No Way Jose against Bobby Roode
No Way Jose took on the glorious one Bobby Roode in the main event. I was surprised with Jose valiant effort against Roode. However, Roode was too much for Jose to handle and hit the Glorious DDT and nobody gets up from that. The NXT Champion did not stop his attack once the bell rang. Roode returned to the ring and he snapped and he locked Jose in the single leg crab that put Shinsuke Nakamura on the shelf.
Kassius Ohno made his long-awaited return to NXT and stopped the attack. Ohno makes it clear he is coming for the NXT Championship. Roode shocked the world when he stated that they can have a match right now. However, The NXT Champion had a master plan as he attacked Ohno from behind going after his knee. Ohno fought back with multiple vicious elbows to Roode’s face. A clothesline from Ohno that sent the NXT Champion flying out of the ring.
