Brian Burns Likely to Miss Sunday’s Game Against the Washington Football Team

The Carolina Panthers have had all-everything running back Christian McCaffrey for only three games this season and that is unlikely to change this Sunday when the Panthers travel to play the Washington Football Team.  McCaffrey, who has battled a high ankle sprain along with shoulder and thigh injuries this season, did not practice on Wednesday.  Head coach Matt Rhule shared with media that McCaffrey is “doubtful” for Sunday’s game.

Joining McCaffrey on that “doubtful” list are defensive end Brian Burns and rookie cornerback Troy Pride, Jr.  Neither player practiced on Wednesday; Burns with a knee injury and Pride, Jr. with a hip injury.  While disclosing that there’s “nothing surgical” with regards to Burns’ knee injury, Rhule also said that he would not go into detail today.

Burns, who many feel was snubbed for this season’s Pro Bowl, has recorded 56 tackles, 8 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles through the Panthers’ 14 games this season.
