FIFA is taking the final stages of the inaugural Women’s Champions Cup to a global audience, partnering with DAZN and major regional broadcasters to ensure fans around the world can watch the decisive matches for free.
The first-ever intercontinental women’s club competition will conclude in London with semi-final games on Jan. 28 at Brentford Community Stadium, and finals on Feb. 1 at Emirates Stadium in London.
The Cup will consist of games between the champions of CONMEBOL, the South American football confederation, and CONCACAF, the governing body for football in North, Central America, and the Caribbean.
The first match will include the South American champions, Corinthians of São Paulo, as they face Gotham FC, the reigning North American champions from New York City. The second semi-final will pit UEFA Women’s Champions League holders Arsenal Women against CAF champions AS FAR of Rabat, Morocco.
In an effort to expand access and visibility for women’s club football, DAZN will live-stream the final phase of the tournament on a free-to-view basis in most territories worldwide. In the home countries of semi-finalist teams, games will be streamed in collaboration with national broadcasters, including Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, and Brazil-based CazéTV.
This tournament serves as an especially monumental event for the world of women’s soccer, as FIFA’s first intercontinental competition for elite women’s teams. Women’s soccer faces many gaps between editions of the Women’s Club World Cup, so FIFA hopes the edition of a new tournament, which brings together six continental champions, will create a more consistent global calendar for the women’s game.
“With world-class players, iconic clubs and a truly global stage, the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup marks a defining moment for women’s club football,” said FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis. “We’re delighted to partner with premium broadcasters who will play a vital role in showcasing the final stage of this new tournament to the world.”
Arsenal, AS FAR, Gotham FCq and Corinthians advanced to the final phase after earlier knockout rounds eliminated Auckland United FC of New Zealand and Wuhan Chegu Jiangda WFC of China.
Visa has been announced as one of the global sponsors of the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. As part of this sponsorship, Visa will present the Player of the Match awards at both semi-finals, the third-place play-off, and the final, as well as the Player of the Tournament Award.
Fans from around the world will be able to witness history in the making, as the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup promises a showcase of the growing strength of women’s club football. For tickets and streaming information, supporters can visit FIFA.com/tickets.
