The Carolina Panthers and wide receiver Jalen Coker on Thursday agreed to a 3-year contract extension, locking the Holy Cross product in through the 2029 season. The deal, negotiated. by Coker’s agent, Matt Goose, is worth $35 million with incentives up to $41 million. It is the first extension for a player signed or drafted during general manager Dan Morgan’s tenure.

Having first come to Carolina as an undrafted rookie free agent after the 2024 draft, Coker was signed as an exclusive rights free agent back in April. Although limited at times by injuries in both of his first two seasons, the 6-3, 213-pound receiver was impressive enough to crack the starting lineup last season.

Coker finished his rookie season with 32 receptions for 478 yards and two touchdowns. Sidelined by a quad injury for the first six games of the 2025 season, he made his presence felt immediately, finishing second on the team with 394 receiving yards and three touchdowns. One of his most memorable scores came in a Week 13 upset of the Los Angeles Rams. Coker had another impressive showing int the teams’ second meeting in the Wild Card game, finishing with nine receptions for 134 yards and a touchdown. He enters training camp seemingly as a lock at the WR2 position.
