Hours after waiving defensive tackle Bravvion Roy, the Carolina Panthers announced that the team has agreed to terms with linebacker Deion Jones. However, a corresponding move will need to be made since the roster sits at 90.
The 28-year-old worked out for the team Monday afternoon and brings experience to an already well-performing group. Jones was selected by the NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2016 draft and finished third in defensive rookie of the year voting. He followed up a solid rookie campaign with being named to the Pro Bowl in 2017.
Jones was placed on IR as training camp ended last year and the Falcons ended up trading him to the Cleveland Browns. There, he played 11 games, starting five.
