The Carolina Panthers have been hit with the injury bug early, already down a pair of starters just one week into the regular season. Add veteran linebacker Shaq Thompson to that list. Thompson was carted off the field in the first quarter of Monday night’s primetime match up against the New Orleans Saints with a shin injury.
Saints left tackle Trevor Penning rolled into Thompson at the end of the play. The long-time captain who took a pay cut to return to the team is doubtful to return to the game.
