This past Tuesday night on SmackDown was slightly better than RAW, but not by much. Here are my top three highlights of the show in addition to the results:

Controversy

After months of buildup, since their match at No Mercy pay-per-view, it was finally time for Becky Lynch to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss. It was supposed to be the main event, however, that didn’t happen.

It had a big fight feel to it and both women’s hatred ran deep as this was SmackDown’s biggest Women’s Championship match to date. Both women brought the best out of each other and Alexa Bliss was in the driver seat for the majority of the match as she targeted Lynch arms which were a smart strategy. I was impressed with Bliss’ development overall in the ring as she has improved leaps and bounds since her days in NXT.

However, as a fighting champion Lynch took a lot of damage she fought back. Bliss found herself in danger in the Dis-Arm-Her submission. This is where all the controversy started because as Bliss tapped out, her foot was on the bottom rope. Therefore, Bliss got screwed. She’ll be in line for a rematch as this intriguing feud continues.

A Major twist

Earlier on in the night Baron Corbin had a conversion about Survivor Series and the six man tag match that he was involved, however, he was not interested. Therefore, this put SmackDown in a hard place because they were down a man on their five-man team against RAW at Survivor Series. After the main event, the General Manager of SmackDown Daniel Bryan made his presence known. Daniel Bryan had a difficult decision to make and he announced Baron Corbin replacement. He ran down the potential candidates on the SmackDown team, then he came to Shane McMahon name and the rest was history as the crowd exploded in yes chants.

Massive stipulation

Daniel Bryan made another match at Survivor Series. The Brian Kendrick from Raw would face SmackDown’s Kalisto for the Cruiserweight Championship. However, there is a massive stipulation that if Kalisto is able to win not only does he bring the Cruiserweight Championship to SmackDown, in addition, the entire Cruiserweight division shifts to the SmackDown brand as well. I thought that the Cruiserweight division should have always been on SmackDown instead of RAW from the brand split.

SmackDown results

Breezango defeated The Vaudevillains  Fandango was able to secure the victory with the Falcon Arrow on Aiden English. Due to the fact Breezango earned a spot on the 10-on-10 SmackDown LIVE Survivor Series Tag Team Qualifying Match.

Naomi was able to defeat Natalya via a roll-up thanks to a distraction from Nikki Bella.

Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto ended in a no contest because due to Kalisto brutally assaulting Corbin giving  him a taste of his own medicine.

For the fist time since his return back to the WWE, Curt Hawkins looked very impressive as he defeated Apollo Crews via a roll up.

Bray Wyatt picked up the victory for his Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Randy Orton) in a six-man tag match over Dean Ambrose, James Ellsworth, and Kane. Bray Wyatt connected with a Sister Abigail on James Ellsworth for the win.
