Yesterday the superstar shakedown concluded, as both brands made their selections that change the landscape of the WWE for the near future. Therefore here are my overall thoughts on what went down.
Expectations
Going into this superstar shakedown my expectations were somewhere in the middle. I thought more of the heavy hitters would move brands to make things a little more interesting.
Disappointments
For the most part, I wasn’t mad at the overall selections but some moves left me scratching my head. The acquisitions of Apollo Crews, Dean Ambrose, and Curt Hawkins to RAW it did not make sense. Due to the fact that both Crews and Hawkins have been booked as jobbers losing weekly.
SmackDown
As far as SmackDown is concerned all selections did not surprise me. Most of the selections were very predictable in my opinion except for Tamina and The Shining Stars. However, if both Tamina and The Shining Stars are given the opportunity they can both succeed.
Acquiring Charlotte was a home run because it sets up intriguing new matches with another deep Women’s division. In addition, Charlotte against Naomi would be absolutely magic in the ring. It just bothers me that everywhere Owens goes Sami Zayn follows. Zayn can always try his best but he will always be in the shadows of Owens.
Conclusion
It will be very intriguing to witness how both shows will battle weekly for supremacy. It should make for compelling TV and only time will tell which brand will better off.
