Leon Slater has his first challenger. In the TNA iMPACT results from the first show after Bound for Glory, Trey Miguel climbed to the top of a five way ladder match Thursday night at the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, Alabama, and pulled down a contract for a TNA World Championship match against Slater at Destination X.
That match is set for November 15 in Edmonton, Alberta.
Trey Miguel Climbs the Ladder
The main event featured Miguel, Elijah, Moose, Ricky Sosa and Jason Hotch, the new TNA International Champion. Former world champion Nic Nemeth, who lost the title to Slater at Bound for Glory on Sunday, was not in the match but got involved anyway. Nemeth climbed the ladder and dragged Elijah down, and Miguel made him pay with a Lightning Spiral before grabbing the contract.
Earlier in the night, Nemeth made it clear he expects a rematch. Instead, he will be watching Miguel get the next shot.
The Hardys Run the Show
Matt and Jeff Hardy opened iMPACT celebrating 35 years in the business and were named matchmakers for the night. Amazing Red, fresh off his Hall of Fame induction and X Division Title win at Bound for Glory, joined them to pay his respects. Slater then came out to talk about his title win, and the Hardys announced the ladder match.
The Hardys also handled AJ Francis and Expressions, who demanded a title match. Matt hit the Twist of Fate on Expressions and Jeff finished him with a Swanton Bomb.
