The last two days, 22 soccer teams will have started to battle it out in the group stage UEFA Champions League. Therefore it is a perfect opportunity to give my predictions for the group stage.

Group A

Manchester United
CSKA Moskva
Basel
Benfica

Manchester United made quick work of Basel and defeated them 3-0. CSKA Moskva defeated Benfica 2-1. Manchester United and CSKA Moskva will advance in the group stage.

Group B

Bayern Munich
Paris Saint-Germain
Celtic
Anderlecht

Paris Saint-Germain showed off their high power offense and destroyed Celtic 5-0. Bayern Munich defeated Anderlecht 3-0. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will advance in the group.

Group C

Chelsea
Roma
Atletico Madrid
Quarabag

Chelsea sent a message to Quarabag as they smashed them 6-0. In a surprising result, Roma and Atletico Madrid drew 0-0. Chelsea will easily advance in addition to Atletico Madrid.

Group D

Barcelona
Sporting Lisbon
Juventus
Olympiacos

This group was very interesting when the draw in Championship League. Barcelona got the very best of Juventus 3-0. Sporting Lisbon and Olympiacos faced off each other in a close battle as Lisbon defeated Olympiacos 3-2. Barcelona will easily advance and Juventus will bounce back to gain enough points to advance.

Group E

Spartak Moskva
Liverpool
NK Maribor
Sevilla

This group will be extremely difficult to predict because every team to this point has one point. Liverpool should have defeated Sevilla but it ended up as a draw 2-2. The other game Spartak Moskva against NK Maribor 1-1. Liverpool and Sevilla just have way too much talent not to qualify.

Group F

Shakhtar Donetsk
Manchester City
Feyenoord
Napoli

Shakhtar Donetsk got a surprising result against Napoli 2-1. Manchester City was too much for Feyenoord to handle 4-0. Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City will advance past the group stage.

Group G

Besiktas
AS Monaco
RB Leipzig
Porto

Besiktas opened up the group stage with an impressive win over Porto 3-1. Monaco shocking got a draw Leipzig and it ended 1-1. Besiktas and AS Monaco should have enough to advance past the group stage.

Group H

Real Madrid
Tottenham Hotspur
Apoel FC
Borussia Dortmund

Group H is one of the most competitive groups in the group stages. The reigning defending champions Real Madrid made quick work Apoel FC 3-0. Tottenham Hotspur were involved in a difficult game but showed off their class against Borussia Dortmund in an impressive 3-1 win. Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur will advance in the group stage.

Conclusion

It will be very interesting to see if all the top teams in group advance past the group stage. However Champions League is a very difficult competition because it’s the best soccer teams that battle around the world.
