WSU Wrestling Crowns 2 New Champions on 10th Anniversary Show

Women’s Superstar’s Uncensored, referred to many as WSU, celebrated their 10th Anniversary this past weekend.  In an action packed nights, fans witnessed not one but two title changes. Fresh off her induction into the WSU Hall of Fame, Mercedes Martinez became the first-ever three time WSU World Champion, while up and coming star Kiera Hogan won her first title of her career when she became the WSU Spirit Champion.

Mercedes Martinez Journey Back to WSU

Mercedes Martinez made her return to WSU in September at Resurgence 2. That afternoon she defeated Deonna Purrazzo and after WSU World Champion Allie defeated Jade in the main event, Martinez entered the ring and let her know that she was coming back to reclaim what was hers. It would not be that easy. At Breaking Barriers 4 in November, Allie sent Martinez’s longtime rival, Lufisto handle her. After Martinez won, she earned title shot at the Anniversary show. With the addition of the title shot, Martinez earned her rightful spot into the WSU Hall of Fame. After an instant classic with Allie, Martinez went on to become the first ever three time WSU World Champion.

Kiera Hogan Wins Her First Title

Kiera Hogan made her WSU debut at Resurgence 2. Even though she came up short against Taeler Hendrix, she impressed management enough to bring her back. At Breaking Barriers Britt Baker took her to the limit before she earned her first win with the company. After that victory, she earned herself a spot in the Spirit Title Match. At Breaking Barriers 4, Su Yung defeat Leva Bates. Veda Scott made her return and she was also entered into the match. These three ladies went back and forth and despite outside interference from Yung’s manager Chrissy Rivera, Hogan and Scott still managed to maintain focus. Former champ Leva Bates would come to the ring in Stone Cold form hit Yung with a mist (Yung used the Red Mist to win the title) and set up for Hogan to hit Yung her finisher to win the gold. “It feels like a dream, it’s my first championship ever.” Hogan said after the win.
