Last night, No Mercy took place live from Los Angeles at the Staples Center, it had several compelling matches that kept the fans entertained. Here are my thoughts on No Mercy and my top three takeaways.
Fatal 5-Way
This match was amazing because it was perfectly booked and executed. All five women really look good in this match and everybody got their opportunity to shine. However, the MVP of this match was Nia Jax for her best performance to date. That double Samoan Drop unbelievable. It started to get out of hand and every competitor tried to get in the upper hand in order to get the win. As Nia Jax took herself out of the equation when she missed Bliss and she went shoulder first into the ring post.Bliss saw a perfect opportunity to capitalize and she did as she connected with a DDT to Bayley. The Goddess of the WWE managed to survive and still retain her RAW Women’s Championship against all odds.
Tag team clinic
These two tag teams of Rollins and Ambrose against Cesaro and Sheamus tore the house down as expected. That match did not disappoint as it was a very hard-hitting contest. The real MVP of this match was Cesaro as he got his three front teeth knocked out and he still continued the match. There was a crazy spot, where Cesaro connected with the Cesaro swing on the outside with Ambrose’s head onto the steel steps.
The former tag team champions had an another unique spot where Sheamus hit the white noise followed by a Powerbomb at the same time only for a near fall. However, the RAW Tag team Champions manage to survive the all-out war. Rollins connected with a devastating knee followed by a Dirty Deeds DDT to Sheamus. As a result, Rollins and Ambrose still retain their tag team gold and it will be a long since they lose the belts.
Passing the torch
This match exceeded my expectations and it lived up to the hype as Roman Reigns met John Cena one on one for the first time. The pace of the match at first was extremely slow but as time went on it went quicker. Both Cena and Reigns took each other to the limit. Cena connected with four Attitude Adjustments and he still couldn’t put Reigns away. Reigns countered an Attitude Adjustment into a spear through the announcer’s table.
The 16-time World Champion was fatigued and then the Big Dog took advantage and he hit Cena with the Superman Punch followed by a Spear for the win. This wins proves that it’s his yard. In April at WrestleMania 33, he defeated the legendary Undertaker. Last night, he defeated the face of the company John Cena it was a passing of the torch moment.
No Mercy results
The Miz defeated Jason Jordan via Skull Crushing Finale retain his Intercontinental Championship.
Finn Balor defeated Bray Wyatt via Coup de Grâce
Enzo Amore defeated Neville to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion via a low blow.
Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman to retain his WWE Universal Championship via a F5
Conclusion
No mercy was an extremely entertaining pay-per-view that delivered on all levels. It would get an eight out of ten because all the matches were excellent except for the main event. However, that being said I didn’t anticipate that much for the main event I just wished it was a little longer.
