On Friday the Carolina Panthers announced that the team has placed offensive lineman Tyler Larsen on the reserve/COVID-19 list and rookie defensive tackle Yetur Gross-Matos on the reserve/injured list.
Gross-Matos, the Panthers second-round draft pick out of Penn State, suffered a high ankle sprain in last Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons and is expected to miss at least three weeks. Gross-Matos had one sack and a forced fumble in four games of action this season.
Larsen goes to the reserve/COVID-19 list as the Panthers continue to operate under the NFL’s intensive protocol after their Week 5 matchup against the Falcons. The team began operating under the protocol after the Falcons placed rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Panthers facilities have remained open and Sunday’s 1pm E.T. game against the Chicago Bears is still on schedule.
