Scary moment for Carolina Panthers left guard Chandler Zavala. Late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game, the fourth-round pick out of NC State was transported to the hospital after suffering a neck injury. Zavala appeared immobile for a while as players from both teams left their sidelines to take a knee as he was tended to by medical staff.
An update provided at the beginning of the second half of the game gave hope as it was disclosed that Zavala was responsive and has movement in all extremities. He is still under evaluation at a local Detroit hospital.
