205 Live was a great show it revolved around crowning a new number one contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Drew Gulak vs. Mustafa Ali
Drew Gulak looked to stop his losing streak against the high-flying Mustafa Ali. Gulak relied on his strength and aggression to get the upper hand. Compared to Ali as he used his speed high octane offense to swing the momentum in his favor. Ali picked up the victory after he connected with a beautiful inverted 450 Splash.
Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari vs. Rich Swann and Gentleman Jack Gallagher
Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari once again battled their rivals, Rich Swann and Jack Gallagher. Gallagher used his unique offense as he took the early advantage. As Gallagher got the hot tag on Swann they finally got off the match. In the finishing sequence, Noam Dar picked up a huge victory for his team via a running enzuigiri.
Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match to become the number one contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
The main event was the biggest ever in 205 Live history. It was a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match to crown a new number one contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. The match featured former Cruiserweight champions TJ Perkins and The Brian Kendrick, along with Akira Tozawa, Tony Nese, and Austin Aries. The winner of this match would face “The King of the Cruiserweights” Neville at WrestleMania.
Turning point
The stakes were so high each competitor put on a show to entertain the fans with the mind blowing abilities. A turning point of this match was when Nese connected with a running knee to Aries through the barricade.
Eliminations
The eliminations took a long time to happen but Nese was the first one eliminated via an armbar by Perkins. The next cruiserweight that was eliminated was Tozawa by Kendrick via Slice Bread. The final three competitors were Aries and two former Cruiserweight Champions. Aries connected with a rolling elbow to secure the victory and book his ticket to WrestleMania.
