In the iconic neighborhood of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, FIFA and legendary Brazilian footballers celebrated the launch of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup emblem, slogan and sonic identity.
It marked a historic moment with Ronaldo, Cristiane, Formiga and Marta along with FIFA’s President, Gianni Infantino in attendance to celebrate and showcase Brazil’s football culture.
The tournament’s emblem, GO EPIC slogan, features a sonic identity and mastery while paying homage to the Brazilian flag and integrates Afro-Brazilian heritage with samba-infused percussion, highlighting the country’s music and culture.
The emblem displays a “W” representing “women” and “world” and “M” displays the Portuguese words mulheres and mundo, that translate to women and world.
Meanwhile the seaside avenue of the Avenida Atlântica became filled with vibrant paintings, inspired by Brazilian traditional painting on the streets.
The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to kickoff in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, 2027, marking the first time South America and Brazil will host and the 10th edition of the tournament.
32 teams will match up in eight host cities: São Paulo, Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Some cities range in multiple regions that include Pernambuco, State of Minas Gerais, and State of Rio Grande do Sul.
FIFA released the tournament’s Sonic ID, the infused soundscape on FIFA’s YouTube and streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
