First Half
The Champions League Final match between two juggernauts in European soccer started off fast as both teams hunted that early goal. Juventus high press early in the match led to a few scoring chances but couldn’t convert any. The first goal from Real Madrid was slotted home by Ronaldo from a cross by full back Dani Carvajal. With Toni Kroos starting the set up play along with Karim Benezma to give Ronaldo his 107th European goal of his career.

The former UEFA Champions League champions took the 1-0 goal but Juventus weren’t deterred. They steadily plucked away at the Madrid defense but it took a world class goal for them to concede. Alex Sandro crossed into the box which Higuain chested down and passed over to Mario Manzukic. And then came the spark of brilliance from the Croatian striker as he controlled then unleashed a beautiful overhead goal to tie at 1-1.

Second Half
A tie after one half isn’t ideal for either team but both were eager to come out and get the early lead. 15 minutes in Real Madrid did just that with a long distance shot from Casemiro. The rocket from the Brazilian midfielder took a wicked deflection and just flew pass keeper GiGi Buffon.

But Real Madrid weren’t finish extending their lead over Juventus as they look to win back to back UCL titles for the first time in the tournament’s history. Luka Modric dinked in a lovely cross to Ronaldo who was charging near post to give him a brace. The goal gave the 4-time Ballon D’Or winner the most total goals in the Champions League (12) to pass Lionel Messi.

Juventus battled the entire game but fell apart at the end. Winger Juan Cuadrado subbed on in the 66th mintues and earned two yellow cards in 20 mintues and left Juve with 10 men. Scrambling to score a goal left Juve open in defense and youngster Marco Asensio capitalized. Marcelo charged down the left side into the box and gave a sweet assist to Asensio for the 4-1 lead.
