This Sunday WWE will make history with the first-ever Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view. At first, this overall card was viewed by many fans as a throwaway pay-per-view. However, this card now has a possibility to be an unbelievable card here are my overall thoughts.
Kick off
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Akira Tozawa vs Neville
Since the Royal Rumble, pay-per-view Neville defeated Rich Swann for The Cruiserweight Championship. Many Cruiserweights have come at The King of the Cruiserweights but they have all fallen in the process.Titus O’Neil created the Titus Worldwide brand and he has bought into Akira Tozawa as the future of the Cruiserweights division.
Titus O’Neil made this feud intriguing with Titus Worldwide brand. Neville should have lost his title to Austin Aries at the time because Aries had three tries at the title but he was unsuccessful. He will retain his title against Tozawa and this will continue this feud which will be entertaining.
Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass
For weeks somebody was attacking Big Cass from behind at backstage before their matches. However, it was all a set up as nobody attacked him. Then, after a lengthy investigation, Cass faked the whole thing and he showed off his true colors Cass admitted that it was him all along.
After multiple attempts by Enzo to forgive Cass he did not care and he attacked Enzo in back to back weeks on RAW. The outcome of the match will be interesting and Cass could shock the world and he can get a win. However, it could end in a disqualification this will lead to another match at SummerSlam in Brooklyn.
Intercontinental Championship
Dean Ambrose vs The Miz
Dean Ambrose looks to regain the Intercontinental Championship against the Miz this Sunday. The Miz managed to retain his Intercontinental Championship in controversial fashion at the Extreme Rules.
The Miz always has a plan up his sleeve and he recruited Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. He formed a new faction called the Miztourage. This should be a good match and The Miz will use his Miztourage to retain his Intercontinental Championship.
WWE Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has been lost in the shuffle for a couple of months now. Then Banks has recently defeated Bliss in back to back weeks on RAW. The Boss earned her opportunity at Bliss in a gauntlet match. It featured Banks, Emma, Nia Jax, Mickie James, Dana Brooke, and Bayley.
The winner would be crowned the new number one contender for the RAW Women’s Championship. Banks made Jax tap out with a modify Banks Statement.Bliss is heading into the Great Balls Of Fire she is looking very weak. The Goddesses of the WWE will do whatever it takes to retain her RAW Women’s Championship.
Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins
Bray Wyatt has become a problem in the side of Seth Rollins. Wyatt has interfered in numerous Seth Rollins matches. As a result, Wyatt challenged Rollins to a match at the pay-per-view. This is a toss-up because the match can go either way it wouldn`t surprise me if Bray won the match.
30-minute match
WWE Tag Team Championship
The Hardy Boyz vs Cesaro and Sheamus
The Hardy Boyz will have their hands full against Cesaro and Sheamus in a thirty-minute match for the RAW Tag Team Championship. These tag teams have quite a history together first in a Steel Cage match at WWE Extreme Rules, these teams have had a draw in a two-out-of-three falls match for the RAW Tag Team Championship rematch on RAW, it ended in a double count-out.
Both teams have competed in numerous singles and tag team matches leading up to the Great Balls Of Fire. This will be an intriguing match between two incredible tag teams. Sheamus and Cesaro could retain their titles, but they will lose their titles on RAW because Sheamus is going to be off filming a movie.
Ambulance Match
Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman
This Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman feud is not finished yet. They will continue their rivalry in an Ambulance Match at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view event.
Back in April on Raw, Strowman showed off his strength as he flipped over the ambulance while Reigns was inside of the ambulance. Strowman continued his momentum with a statement win over Reigns at Payback.
Strowman made his return from surgery and made an impact instantly on RAW. He interfered and gave Reigns a beatdown.This is another difficult match to call but Braun Strowman will be the last man standing as he will send the big dog to the hospital.
WWE Universal Championship
Samoa Joe vs Brock Lesnar
This Sunday Samoa Joe will take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship. At first, a lot of fans were critical of this match. Even though this was a dream match but at this pay-per-view, it was viewed a throwaway match.
The WWE has done a fantastic job with the build up.Joe has been incredible on the mic back and forth with Paul Heyman. Joe earned his opportunity at the WWE Universal Championship at Extreme Rules in a Fatal 5-Way.
The outcome of the match is a coin flip it could go either way. I pray this match at least goes 15 minutes. In addition hopefully, it’s not a squash match. Even though I want to Joe win the title it doesn’t seem like it will happen. The perfect scenario is to have the match end in disqualification. therefore you could resume this feud down the line.
