Most people around the globe know the gut-wrenching feeling of when a flight is delayed. It can destroy plans, ruin budgets, and ultimately screw over an entire trip. To their dismay, fans of the Jets NFL franchise know this feeling all too well. Since the hiring of once semi-respectable Head Coach Adam Gase, the historic franchise has flipped on its head and showed it’s true colors as a burning trash pile. To no one’s surprise, reports from the NY Daily only confirm this, as news broke that Gase is actively shopping former First-Team All-Pro RB Le’ Veon Bell. In the Pittsburgh Black and Yellow, Bell was considered a generational talent, with a unique style that lit up any highlight tape. His quickness, agility, and overall athletic ability, combined with his uncanny patience, made him nearly impossible to tackle. However, all this changed when Bell decided to end his time in Pittsburgh and sit out the entirety of the 2018 season. Since then, he never really bounced back to reclaim his title with the Jets. I
In 2019, his stats were less than average, putting up only 780 yards on the ground and 3 touchdowns. Nearly 500 fewer yards and 6 touchdowns fewer than the previous season. Even though Le’Veon has in no way looked like himself in the Jets offense, is he really to blame? Adam Gase has in no way set his team up for success, and everyone knows it. “#FireAdamGase” has slowly turned into a twitter movement, as rallies outside of Jets Headquarters have been held, and angry season ticket holders voice their thoughts on social platforms. If these rumors of a possible trade are true, then maybe it’s for the better of Bell’s career.
After all, the only commonality of his failure is the Jets franchise. Maybe a trip to Miami would be good for him, as the Dolphins are the 24th best running team in the league. Bell’s dual-threat ability would definitely do them some good, and allow veteran Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to not constantly put the game on his shoulders.
Plus, who doesn’t like a good trip to the sunny state of Florida? With the Jets franchise going up in flames, a trade to the Dolphins might be Bell’s best escape plan, and allow him to finally put some respect back on his name.
