The Military Bowl Foundation announced that Freedom Mortgage secured the title sponsor of the NCAA postseason bowl game for a multi-year deal.
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operating events in the Washington D.C. area to benefit service members of the United States.
It also operates the DC Touchdown Club that gives back to charitable organizations and philanthropic impact for Patriot Point.
The club hosted the DC Touchdown Club Awards Dinner that honored the capital’s region’s best high school players of the year and University of Tennessee head coach Rick Conner won Coach of the Year of Linganore High School.
Oregon’s Immanuel Iheanacho won for Maryland while Michigan’s Tariq Boney won for Washington D.C. and Tennessee’s Kedric Golston II won for Virginia.
Washington Commanders Managing Partner Josh Harris also earned the Touchdown Club’s prestigious Founder’s Award.
Freedom Mortgage is one of the nation’s largest originators and servers to residential mortgage loans founded in 1990 by Stanley C. Middleman.
The company helps military families, veterans, first-time homebuyers and underserved communities, helping millions of Americans across the nation to achieve homeownership and providing financial needs.
The bowl game will occur later this year in December at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, featuring representatives from the ACC and American Conference and is nationally televised by ESPN.
The teams will stay in the nation’s capital as fans enjoy Military Bowl Eve and gameday during the culmination of Bowl Week.
Since 2008, the game has been played yearly in December, first played at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington D.C.
It was known as the EagleBank Bowl sponsored by EagleBank, a community bank headquartered in the Maryland and Washington D.C. area where Wake Forest defeated Navy, 29-19.
Excel Sports Management’s Properties Division, a sports marketing and management agency, contributes to forming the partnership between the Military Bowl Foundation and Freedom Mortgage.
The annual game also will benefit Patriot Point, the foundation’s 294-acre retreat to provide a safe facility for the wounded, ill, service members and their families and caregivers.
