Tomorrow morning, New Japan will present their biggest pay-per-view of the year with Wrestle Kingdom 11. This is arguably the best wrestling pay-per-view as it relates to pure wrestling. New Japan is offering Wrestle Kingdom 11 online for free courtesy when you sign up for New Japan World which is equivalent to the WWE Network. However, you might want to use a translator because it’s in Japanese and it starts 2 AM eastern.
Pre-Show: New Japan Rumble
This is a difficult match to predict because anything can happen. Last year the surprise entrants were Haku, Cheeseburger, and the Great Kabuki. Jushin Thunder Liger is my choice to be the winner in this year’s New Japan Rumble.
Tiger Mask W vs. Tiger The Dark
In October a Tiger Mask anime series debuted, and this match will involve real versions of the anime characters. Kota Ibushi will play the role of Tiger Mask W, and ACH will play the role of Tiger the Dark. I am leaning towards Tiger The Dark to get the win in this contest.
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Match: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Roppongi Vice
This will be a battle between two tag teams that have been at the top of this competitive tag team division for years. The Young Bucks are currently in their 5th reign as champions, while Roppongi Vice has held the same titles twice. Fans can expect an insane tag team match, as expected when the Young Bucks are involved you will always see a lot of jaw-dropping moments and several Superkicks. The Young Bucks will walk away still the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Gauntlet Match: Bullet Club vs. CHAOS vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon vs. Satoshi Kojima, David Finlay, and Ricochet (c)
The Neveropenweigh Tag Team Championships were debut at last year’s Wrestle Kingdom. This should be an unbelievable contest that will be filled with non-stop action and highlights. The Bullet Club will do whatever it takes to bring home the gold.
Cody Rhodes vs. Juice Robinson
Cody Rhodes shocked the wrestling world when he decided to join the Bullet Club. There was a video showcasing him smoking a cigarette with a Bullet Club t-shirt in the background. Cody Rhodes now goes under the nickname the American Nightmare paying tribute to his father Dusty Rhodes who was known as the American Dream. Cody Rhodes will have his debut match against Juice Robinson who was formerly known as “CJ Parker” in NXT. Robinson was trained by Cody’s late great father Dusty Rhodes. I expect Rhodes to be victorious in his New Japan debut and he will continue the momentum with the company.
Ring of Honor World Championship Match: Adam Cole Vs. Kyle O’Reilly (c)
These two have had no love lost between each other they were former friends now turned enemies. O’Rielly finally defeated Adam Cole at Final Battle as he became the new ROH World Champion. This match will blow their previous encounters out of the water due to the fact that it will take place at the Tokyo Dome. O’Reilly will successfully retain his ROH World Championship.
IWGP Tag Team Championship Three-Way Match: Guerillas of Destiny (c) vs. Great Bash Heel vs. Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano
This will be a very interesting three-way match IWGP Tag Team Championship match. The Guerillas of Destiny represents the Bullet Club they have dominated the tag team division and have held the titles since October. The Champions will have their hands full with their unique competition but Guerillas of Destiny will have enough to retain their IWGP Tag Team Championships.
IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Match: Hiromu Takahashi vs. Kushida (c)
This will be an exciting match between two high flyers in New Japan. Kushida is flying under the radar as a Champion but he always is underappreciated. For fans who aren’t familiar Takahashi had quite an impressive year, he had matches in ROH and PWG wrestling as Kamaitachi. He made his surprise return to New Japan he challenged Kushida for the title.
NEVER Openweight Championship Match: Hirooki Goto vs Katsuyori Shibata (c)
This will be a fantastic contest between two heavy hitters in Goto against Shibata. These two were friends ever since they met in high school. They were a brief tag team but split up at the hands of the Bullet Club. Now, Goto has replaced Shinsuke Nakamura spot in Choas Shibata will look to continue his momentum as Never Openweight gold and will retain Shibata.
IWGP Intercontinental Championship Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito (c)
This will be the great match because it will feature two incredible athletes. Tanahashi to those that are not familiar with him he is the Japanese version of John Cena. Naito is one of the most popular wrestlers ever since he joined Los Ingnoberables, they are his own evil faction in Japan they became arguably the hottest fashion in Japan 2016. Tanahashi will become the new IWGP Intercontinental Champion because Naito needs to move on to bigger and better things
IWGP Heavyweight Championship: Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada (c)
Kenny Omega made headlines when he took control of the Bullet Club which is the Japanese version of the nWo. Omega brutally attacked AJ Styles the day after last year’s Wrestle Kingdom 10. Omega had quite a year as he won the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, which was vacated by Nakamura before he departed for the WWE. The G1 Climax tournament, is a four week round robin tournament, to secure his spot as the number one contender for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
The current IWGP Heavyweight Okada has held the title numerous times since his push to main event status back in 2012. Okada has become the face of the company ever since Shinsuke Nakamura left the company for the WWE. It will be a passing of the torch moment and Omega will become the new IWGP Champion.
