It was the new year and I thought that RAW would come out with a bang but it was far from it and another disappointment I will provide my three highlights that I took away as the results.
1) Last Man standing
This was the only match I was looking forward to on RAW because I was invested in this Bruan Strowman and Sami Zayn feud. Zayn did everything within his power to get an advantage over the monster Kendo sticks, pipes, and a steel chair. Braun Strowman showed off his agility when delivered a running crossbody off the stage and through a table. Strowman finished off Zayn with two Running Powerslams to the arena floor. Strowman was not finished even though he was victorious Zayn was carried off on a stretcher but he still attacked Zayn.
2) Deja Vu
Chris Jericho continues to have multiple opportunities came after Roman Reigns’ United States Championship. Fans have seen this match numerous time but I always got to credit for Chris Jericho always keeping it fresh against Reigns. Keep it mind the Kevin Owens took on Rollins earlier in the night the loser would be banned from this match. Owens used the ring bell, therefore, he was disqualified and Rollins won the match. Momentum went back and forth but the turning point was when Jericho exposed a turnbuckle. Jericho’s plan ended up blowing up in his face Jericho went face first in the turnbuckle it capped off with a spear.
3) New number one contender for RAW Women’s Championship
Bayley picked up numerous wins over the RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte the prior weeks on RAW. Earlier in the night, Stephanie McMahon stated that she did not want Bayley on the RAW because Bayley was championship material. Bayley had to take on Nia Jax to determine who be the number one the contender for the RAW Women’s Champion. Bayley took advantage of a distraction from Sasha Banks to she connected with Bayley-to-Belly off the top rope to Nia Jax. Therefore it is official it will be Charlotte against Bayley at Royal Rumble for the RAW Women’s Championship.
