The New Orleans Saints added a big piece to their scouting team as they’ve hired Tommy Reamon Jr. to their staff.
Reamon was hired by the Saints as a Pro Scout earlier this month. He has been involved with the game of football since he was born and has been on a coaching staff since 2012.
In 2012, he was a graduate assistant at the University of Virginia where he served under Mike London. Reamon landed an internship, in 2014, with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After landing on the Miami Hurricanes’ coaching staff as a Quality Control coach, Reamon joined Christopher Newport University as a Running Back coach and recruiting coordinator.
Reamon began scouting players where he attended the Reese’s Senior Bowl and the NFL combine in 2018. He made the ultimate sacrifice to leave CNU to join Virginia Tech as an unpaid volunteer coach for a year as he felt he was being overlooked by due to coaching at a small school.
“I started reaching out to scouts and General Managers 3 years ago while working at CNU, but coming from a smaller school I felt like I kept getting over looked by candidates from larger schools (D1). So I made the ultimate sacrifice to leave CNU and joined Virginia Tech as a unpaid volunteer coach for a year just so NFL front offices would take my application seriously when it came across their desk.”
Reamon is currently with the Saints as they are set to start OTA’s today and he looks to start his new career opportunity in New Orleans.
