Last night was the final RAW before the 30th annual Survivor Series pay-per-view this Sunday. It was a good overall show, with a recurring theme of elimination matches as a preview heading into Survivor Series. I will provide my top three highlights of the show as well as the results.
1) Perfect ending:
The ending to RAW was done perfectly. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan accepted their invitation to RAW. Then Team RAW and Team SmackDown were face-to-face in the ring and went back and forth on the mic. It didn’t take too long for both teams to eventually reach their boiling point. After Dean Ambrose punched to Chris Jericho in the all hell broke loose.
The final image of RAW was Seth Rollins saving Roman Reigns from a Styles Clash from AJ Styles. A special moment took place between the two former Shield members when they connected with a Double-Powerbomb on The Phenomenal One Styles over the top rope. After looking like a dysfunctional, Team Raw has picked up a lot of momentum heading into Survivor Series.
2) Braun Strowman:
Strowman looked very weak heading into this pay-per-view, until last night. The unlikely trio of Rollins, Jericho, and Strowman took on The New Day. Before the match took place, Jericho decided to give his partners expensive scarves but none of them were interested.
Strowman was the main focus in this match leading up to Sunday. Strowman picked up the win for his team via a running Power Slam on Xavier Woods. After the match, Rollins delivered a Pedigree to Jericho.
3) Weak confrontation:
The main focus on RAW last night was all about Brock Lesnar and Goldberg going face-to-face. In my perspective, it was a weak confrontation because Lesnar and Goldberg were in the ring surrounded by security. Both Goldberg and Heyman, went back and forth on the mic eventually both men had enough of talking and decided to brutally assault all the security guards in the ring. The only aspect that I would change in this segment is to have them brawl backstage. Another option would have been to utilize the entire RAW roster in order to separate Goldberg and Lesnar from each other.
RAW Results:
WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and U.S. Champion Roman Reigns defeated Cesaro and Sheamus via a Superman punch on Sheamus.
Sami Zayn defeated Bo Dallas via Helluva Kick and he is picking up some serious momentum heading into Survivor Series
WWE Cruiserweight Champion The Brian Kendrick defeated Sin Cara via the Captain Hook submission. Personally, it did not make any sense to preview the same match that will be featured at Survivor Series instead it was on RAW for free.
Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks defeated Nia Jax and Alicia Fox via a Banks Statement submission from Banks to Fox.
Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated The Golden Truth and The Shining Stars via a Magic Killer from Gallows and Anderson on Primo.
